Chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) is a new type of macromolecular synthetic material which is produced by means of substitution reaction between a special brand of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin and chlorine under the initiation of ultraviolet ray. It is widely used in the production of various heatproof and anticorrosion plastic products, adhesives, and coatings, etc..
¡ñ Functions
1) Excellent heat-enduring quality.
Chlorinated polyvinyl chloride can increase the temperature of heat endurance by 40-50¡æ higher than that of polyvinyl chloride. It can maintain sufficient strength at the temperature of 100¡æ.
2) Excellent insulation to electricity.
Chlorinated polyvinyl chloride demonstrates very high insulating strength and it is used in the production of various insulation materials.
3) Excellent anticorrosion property.
On account of high chlorine content of chlorinated polyvinyl chloride, it is particularly suitable for use in the presence of hot and strong corrosive media.
4) Excellent anti-combustion property.
The fuming index of chlorinated polyvinyl chloride is low, it can be used to develop electric wires and cables with low fuming density.It is a good anti-combustion additive.
¡ñ Characteristics of Specific Grades of Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride.
1)CPVC JH-C65 : It is mainly used in the production of heat-enduring plastic products by extrusion process, such as hot water pipes, salt water pipes, chlorine pipes, electrical pipes, etc.
2)CPVC JH-C64: It is suitable for the production of adhesives and as the modifier of polyvinyl chloride fibre, which can modify the shrinkage of polyvinyl chloride fibre.
3)CPVC JH-63: It has better fluidity, and it is particularly suitable for the production of heat-enduring products by injection process, such as pipe fittings, filtering materials, fittings for dehydrating machines, heat-enduring furring materials of cooking utensils, etc.
4)CPVC JH-61: The solubility is better. It is excellent in the film formation, therefore, it is suitable for the production of coatings. Compared with the solvent polyethylene tetrachloride, it is cheaper and has better storage stability.
